Rare Double-Handled Stoneware Jug with Alkaline Glaze, Stamped "CJB", Columbus Jackson Becham, Crawford County, GA, late 19th or early 20th century, beehive-form, ovoid jar with slightly-flared spout and applied handles at the shoulder, the surface covered in a streaky light-green alkaline glaze. Impressed on top of one handle, "CJB", for Crawford County, Georgia potter, Columbus Jackson Becham. Exceptional color and squat, double-handled form. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Professional restoration to spout. A faint hairline in one handle. A small base chip and a few in-the-firing stacker marks to bottom edge. H 15".
