Rare Stoneware Pig Bottle with Whimsical Face, Incised "Pure Old Bourbon / in a hogs-," Midwestern origin, possibly Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, circa 1880, molded bottle in the form of a pig with hole at rear, incised eyes and hooves, and unusual hand-modeled face. Body incised "Pure Old Bourbon / in a hogs-" with line pointing to rear. Surface covered in a light Albany slip glaze, with painted details to face. Chip to one ear, which may have occured in the making. Otherwise mint condition. Length 7 3/4".
