Rare Incised and Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Presentation Pitcher, Incised "Mrs. Yapp," attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, small-sized stoneware pitcher with incised and cobalt-highlighted designs at base, spout, and flanking the inscription "Mrs. Yapp.". Brushed cobalt floral decoration on the sides extending from the base of the handle. Cobalt leaf-like brushwork along the collar. Cobalt circles brushed at handle terminals. Desirable size and outstanding decoration. The Mrs. Yapp for whom this pitcher was made is likely Catharine Yapp, who owned a boarding house in Philadelphia circa 1 Mint condition. H 7 1/2".
